I'd give up Singleton or Santana for Kazmir/Moss.

Would be sweet if we could get Kazmir/Clippard somehow

I think the outfield is fine. I wish we would shoot for the moon and see if the Reds will trade Frazier.

Moss plays for Cleveland now and he's essentially Chris Carter. .236/.310 12HR 36 RBI. 27 walks 77 strikeouts.

Carter .198/.316 13HR 37RBI 40 walks 102 strikeouts

I think we're just gonna have to roll with Carter/ Singleton at first this year unless Lowrie or Valbuena starts playing there, but Buena isn't really much different

I'm honestly not worried about other positions in a trade coming this way. I just want to get a solid starting pitcher without giving up too much of what's being built. I still think that Kazmir is the best option, and I'd like to see Appel be a part of the package.

Anyone bored?

I'm curious if anyone is up for an assignment.

How much of this year's Cardinals team is Jeff Luhnow responsible? I'm curious to see a list

I think Mike Leake may be a nice fit for us...price won't be too high and his peripherals are good especially pitching in the reds park.

Yeah somebody like Reddick would be pure luxury. If the price is good though I think you have to consider it because he's good and he's controllable

Someone educate me about International free agency. Is everyone fair game for every team? Is it all a bunch of 16 yr olds we wouldn't hear about/see for a few years while they train in their home countries academy we have there? Anyone of note in our current system been signed from IFA?

It closes the loophole using PTBNL to trade recently drafted players. PTBNLs still exist.

Well, as of today, that rule has officially been changed. An email has been sent to all 30 MLB teams regarding this adjustment, and reads as follows, as told to me by a source who got the email:

quote:

Please be advised that the Commissioner’s Office and the Players Association have agreed to amend the Major League Rules in advance of this year’s Rule 4 Draft with respect to players-to-be-named-later (“PTBNLs”) under Rule 12(e)(2), and the trading of draft picks under Rule 3(b)(6). …commencing with players eligible for the 2015 Rule 4 Draft, (a) players selected in the Draft may be traded beginning on the day following the conclusion of the World Series, and (b) drafted players cannot be PTBNLs unless they otherwise could be traded pursuant to Rule 3(b)(6), as amended, at the time of the trade.

Nice. I wonder how much it is and if we can make a run at either of the HS pitchers we took
