DAT 9/25: vs Rangers - Season Defining Series Edition

Well fellas this is it.
A de facto playoff series this weekend in the juice box that will ultimately decide our postseason fate.
Win and go on to greatness...or lose...and probably face a series of cataclysmic events for the rest of our lives.
Houston must be defended
Those bastards from the north must be defeated
It's time to win or go home.
Kazmir vs Gallardo
WIN!

This is the biggest series of the season. Taking 2/3 is a must to control our own destiny. Angels are right on our arse after dropping the series to them.

I assume you mean for the playoffs and not for the division..correct? We can sweep and still not be in first place in the division.

Who does everyone talk about DeShields like we let the next Mike Trout get away?
Dude has hit .241 since the end of July. He's got below average defense.
Where exactly was this guy going to play? He would've never sniffed the big leagues in Houston.
Marisnick hits the ball better and plays ten times better defense. Hell, DeShields defense is about on par with Preston Tucker and we know who the better bat out of that is.

I don't think he will be the next trout, however I think we should of protected him. Had lesser players that we protected.

At this point winning the division is a bit of a stretch because we need the Rangers to lose more than we win. I'm not saying it's impossible, just that things will have to fall out way in addition to winning games. I was talking about playoffs, hence why I mentioned the Angels being right on our arse now.

Kazmir???

I agree that he should have been protected. But lets talk about how it would have played out if we had kept him. He was piss poor at AA last year. There's no doubt he would have repeated at that level. Our outfield is crowded as it is. Plus Luhnow has been bullish on bringing inexperienced players into the playoff race. If we keep DDj, he's probably never in the majors in 2015. Although it would have kept a starter off of the Rangers so maybe we should have kept him.
I'll be at the game tonight. Hopefully we can break this losing stream against Arlington. Listy's arse better be there for all 3 games. We need his good luck now more than ever.

As down as I always am after the disappointing losses being so regular I'm back to being fired up for this series. I'm still expecting something special from this group, this season can't end like this (even though it more than likely will). frick the Rangers lets ride felllaaaassssss wooooooooo

I agree, if we don't sweep the Rangers, we probably miss the playoffs all together. Finishing the season with six games on the road does not inspire any sort of confidence

I don't have a problem losing him. I have a problem losing him for nothing. That's the only reason I say to protect him. Then trade him for all I care.

MLB Network just gave a locker room speech to the locker room, it was amazing

I have zero faith. Can't lie

I know we've said games are a "must win" multiple times over the last 10-15 days, but tonight's game is huge. If we lose, even if Anaheim and Minnesota lose and make up zero ground, it's going to take a miracle to hang on to that 2nd wild card spot
If we can get Kazmir to pitch like an ace and win tonight, we are right back in the ballpark 14 hours later. Before we know it, we could have a 2 run lead at 1:00 tomorrow and our team will know we are just a few innings from wining the series and having all the momentum for a sweep
I think it's unreasonable to ever expect a sweep in any series during any part of the season, so I'm just taking it one game at a time. Get us started tonight. Anything can happen tomorrow and if we were to somehow win both, you gotta think Keuchel at home Sunday would be ready to get this team back on track
