Terrible seats. They should bitell the bullet on weekdays and sell the good sears cheaper.

You like umpires altering the course of games? The strike zone shouldn't be subjective..we have technology to get every call right and do it quickly. Look how many bad calls are being reversed in the field each night....

Bullpen box seats were more than $20 originally? Still not worth it

It's weird that teams cannot figure out a reasonable structure for pricing different parts of their stadiums. You can figure out how to get butts in the lesser seats when you're willing to make the money off concessions rather than the tickets themselves.

I saw Brian Smith on Twitter last night talking about how Houston is a bandwagon city for attendance for all 3 sports.

Since moving to Houston a couple years ago I go to between 5-10 games a year. I don't go to more because I spend about $100 between parking, tickets (when I have to pay) and concessions for myself and my wife. Can't do that too often. Not to mention gas (we live in cypress). Would love to go to more games, just not in the budget. Not to mention we have two kids under 2 so going during the week is difficult as well since games start when they start getting ready for bed.

Pretty much all pro basketball and baseball fanbases are bandwagon. I would like to see what the Cards or Red Sox attendance would be like after sucking for 10 years straight. Would it be better than Houston's? Probably, but not by much. They for damn sure wouldn't be selling out every night.

The NFL is the only league that sells out consistently even when teams aren't good. The Texans have sold out 132 consecutive games or something like that.

I don't really care about bandwagon or not for going to the games. I live in Baton Rouge. When the astros are good I make 1 or 2 trips a year to watch them play. When they are terrible I don't. That is technically bandwagon, but I have always watched the games even during the bad years.

And that's completely normal. The Phillies attendance has been bad this year (similar to what the Astros did last year), Cleveland's has been atrocious for several years (despite them being pretty good), KC barely outdrew the Astros last year despite being in the middle of a playoff race all year. The media has a hard on for labeling anywhere in the south or southwest a bandwagon fanbase but never does that for places in the Midwest or northeast and it's always bugged me

I really hope baseball does the right thing and moves to automated balls and strikes...that would eliminate the BS framing concept...speed up games and cause less ejection and arguments.

I couldn't disagree more. I'm all for fairness but baseball is a silly, ridiculous sport. For instance, home runs are inherently a stupid idea as they run counter to the rest of the sport, and this is amplified by the lack of standardization of ballparks. Eventually people who share your view will win out as they always do in these situations, and I'm dreading that day, because the umpire is a part of the fun.

Houston is town full of 1st and 2nd generation people that come there for work. A lot of people are going to have the same connections to sports teams as say someone whose family has been in or around boston for the past 150 years. Having said that, the majority professional fanbases are bandwagon. People just dont have to time to follow a dog shite team, especially since tanking is a admitted thing.

The astros of the past 6 years was the only time in my lifetime one of my teams truly sucked so i made it a point to stick around.

Yeah that's why they sell out parks...so fans can watch a fun ump show. Look at all those ump jerseys and hats being bought by the thousands. Shitty umps are fun!!

Pretty sure many DATers wished AIDS upon them after the Springer injury. Shoot for the moon to reach the stars, eh?

Nobody said the shitty umps :cough: Hernandez :cough: are fun. But as much as I hate getting that shite zone I love when Dallas is pitching and getting that call 2 inches off the black.
