Feel compelled to start today's thread as I’m having to put down my family’s 16 year old pup, Bidge. He’s the best dog we could’ve ever asked for. He sat by my side watching probably over 1,000+ Stros games….from the dark days of our 100+ loss seasons, through the rebuild, and the championships that followed

ANYWAYS, enough depressing shite. Today is usually one of the most exciting days of the year however it doesn’t seem like there’s gonna be nearly the amount of teams selling that we were kinda hoping for. Which of course sets up for disappointment.

So let’s all post all real and fake rumors, be overly dramatic, and cross our fingers we get pleasantly surprised

Do it for Bidge!

Glad you didn't name him after the other one...

Disagree.

Saw that Verdugo is on the trading block. There’s your LH bat

Need Verlander. Don't make the mets pay down any salary so we can include a low prospect. It's just money, Jim.

ETA: Or gamble Jim's money on E-Rod

Meh. I don't dislike him but I'm not sure he's worth the price we might have to pay for a year and a half of him. He's making $6 million this year with an arb raise next year but he'll still be reasonably cheap. I don't think the Sox have much incentive to move him unless they get a good return ya know? And I'm not sure he's the guy you use a good prospect package on. Better than Jake and Julks but how much does he move the needle?

This roster is more than 2 players away from being a real Contender.

I’m sorry about your dog. Pets are the best. May Bidge rest in peace, and the Astros get a win tonight.

Win one for Bidge! So sorry for you today, but 16 great years is all you can ask for and more. I know he was loved and will be missed!

A MLB rumors tweet says JV may end up a Dodger or an Astro. It's a shame Crane isn't Mattress Mack. Mack would gamble it all to win another WS! #winning

Tick tock, Dana Brown, Tick Tock!

So the deadline is tomorrow at 5 pm central. Time is running out but sometimes the best deals go down at the last minute.

The Astros not acquiring a starting pitcher would be conceding the division to the Rangers with the moves they made. Something needs to happen.

Picked out Astrobella as a pup at '05 Series in Houston and had her home by Christmas for the kids. She was a Boykin.

She brought in the '17 World Series with us, and her time was done. Woke up day after Christmas and she was asleep in her bed, somewhere she never slept

Sorry for your loss, man, but it's part of the process.

Thoughts are with you today, 5. What wahoocs said is true, but it certainly doesn’t make it any easier. A few days from now will make four years since my black Lab passed. I haven’t gotten another dog because, for me, days that you’re having today are too much.

I believe there is some gamesmanship from Dana on the starting pitching interest. We’ve been connected to almost every available starter at this point and multiple writers in general have said we are one of the teams interested in that market. Maybe that’s just me being optimistic and not wanting to watch Bielak anymore
