Guys, it's a new day so we need a new DAT

Look guy, I know we have new bandwagoners that's just hopped aboard the Astros train, but we have a rule here.

You start the DAT and they win, you're on the hook for the DAT the next day. Don't be trying to come in here and slinging that big chicken stick around here like you own the place.

Hoohoo has emotional problems at times and my guess is that he's on meds to keep him calm during baseball season. I think these meds knock him out and allows for excellent sleep. Let the guy wake up this morning.

meant to post this last night but I'll do it now, my feelings on Hamels trade clause are that neither team would be this far in negotiations if he was going to veto a deal. The Astros clearly making several counters, the Phillies sending their head scout to Corpus three days before the deadline. That would be a whole shitload of wasted time for both teams

I think it's going to cost too much. I'd prefer Ross to shore up that 3rd spot in the rotation or Cashner that'll bump Kazmir to 3. Those 2 are excellent options and cheaper. Monetary and prospect wise....

I just hate to see scouts at Corpus because you know they're looking at Phillips and/or Reed and that's just too much to give up

Ross won't be much cheaper in prospects...just in salary.

Don't you mean Cashner? You do know Cashner>>Ross?

And I don't think Houston would have to give up Phillips AND Reed like I think they're asking

Yeah and that might be the case, I don't think the trade clause will block him from coming here though. I def don't want to give up Phillips and Reed. I would be fine with giving up Reed on his own along with other lesser guys and maybe okay with Phillips if there isn't much value elsewhere in the deal, but not both.

Because of what came out earlier about Phillips and how our organization values him I would think they would make Philly pick up much more of Hamels deal if he's going to be included

I'd be okay with an either/or trade package of Reed/Phillips.. Just not an "and".

Hamels gives you more innings than the Padres guys. Overall, I think that makes the bullpen stronger.

Astros need to focus their efforts on taking the division and getting home field advantage. I don't like their chances in a one game playoff.
