Holy shite. Jose Fernandez just hit David Peralta in the head with a 97 mph heater. Full helmet shot...he's sitting up. Thank goodness.

Next weeks series could be potentially sink or season if we don't take 2/3.

1. It's july.

2. Still have 9 games left after the next series against the Angels.

3. They're playing great ball right now. They'll eventually come back down to earth. Unsustainable

He's a lucky man. He ducked just enough to save his face.

Fernandez threw three straight sweeping hooks away to Tomas, who basically went all Kruk vs. Big Unit with his swings.

Heyman says the Astros are determined not to trade Brett phillips. Say a n organization source expects him to be a star.

I.agree with it. I don't want to see Phillips or reed or Nottingham traded.

David friese just drilled on the hand and out of the game.

We all want Santana and Singleton used as ammo. No one would mind Obie or Straily either. Kemp and Hoes could go. If we can get the pitcher we want by using Feliz, that would be nice.

And then there's Appel. If he gets us a Padres guy or Hamels plus cash, I'll allow it.

Taking a look at the Angels through their 16-3 run and I'm feeling a bit better about them coming back to earth. Using baseball reference, I looked at how they've done during the 19 game hot streak. Unsustainable to say the least.

Ianetta .250/.426 1 2B 3HR 9RBI 11BB (41HR 122RBI 149BB 95R)

Calhoun .312/.365 6 2B 7HR 19RBI (137R 205H 60HR 162RBI)

Pujols .237/.293 2 2B 6HR 13RBI (42HR 111RBI 103R)

Trout .323/.450 9HR 15RBI (154R 82HR 136RBI 100BB)

Aybar .400/.406 7 2B 1HR 10RBI (220H 120R 60 doubles, 9HR 86RBI)

Giovatella .244/.291 5 2B 9RBI (43 doubles 77RBI)

Freese .258/.361 3 2B 1HR 9RBI (108R 10HR 82RBI)

Joyce .167/.295 1 2B 1HR

Cron .440/.453 4 2B 4HR 12RBI (105R 255H 47 doubles, 47HR 139RBI)

The numbers in parenthesis are their stats for these 19 games projected over 162 games. 6/9 would score 100+ runs, 4/9 would drive in 100+ runs, 3/9 would have 200+ hits on the season. They're almost all hot at the same time.

I give almost zero fricks about LAA. The Astros just need to shore up a couple of leaks and get injured guys back. We're pretty damn good.

We've got to handle our business and shore up some holes. But we'll also need them to cool off. I'm hoping like hell to win the division so we can be at home as much as possible. 32-17 at home vs 21-26 on the road.

Collin McHugh 18-5 since Aug 1 last year. Most wins of any pitcher in baseball. 3.40 era.

Mike Hauschild is having another solid night for Fresno. Have you seen his ground ball rates? Good Lord.

We breed ground ball pitchers and high K power hitters.
