I agree. McCullers' stuff looked electric at times last night. I want to hold on to him for a while

True, but I don't think they take Cameron there without already knowing where the money is going to come from. And his price may not even be quite as high as was floated yesterday, that may have just been the price to take him off whatever agreement he had in place with the Astros.

The situation they're in right now they can afford to wait to make a decision closer to the deadline

I still think they should make a run at somebody like Zimmermann in the offseason but I might feel different at the end of the year

Yea I'm hoping they know they can sign everyone. That would be a huge boost to our slowly diminishing farm system.

I wouldn't trade for starting pitching. There are too many arms available in free agency to run at. And you can make trades in the offseason if need be.

Mccullers wasn't even expected when this year started, nor was Velasquez. If they shine, you do not trade them. When I say shine I mean like Mccullers is now, showing top rotation caliber stuff , not just showing solid trade potential.

Keep the young controlled guys.

And please excuse my posting today, on phone with a bad signal, may double post. Go stros

May need to make a move for a legit 1b this year..or a league average one. Singleton at this point is going to be left handed carter with poor defense. Don't see any real other internal options unless they start working tucker there but they don't seem to want to do that.

If they're going to deal for a SP I think it's going to be a lower end guy for depth once McCullers and Velasquez hit their inning limits and if Feldman or Obie continue to struggle with health. Not someone they would be giving up big time prospects for

I agree. Somebody like Adam Lind or LaRoche could probably be had on the cheap

I love mcculler's stuff. I am still on the "ride this team out" train, I would hate for a bad trade to hamper the future.

Think you're right, but Hamels rumors won't die.

I would shite if they got rid of Mccllers right now for anything less than Kershaw.

I know Mike Leake's name has been floated. We debated him a bit in DAT. He's a very Luhnow pitcher.

Yeah I could see him too. I really want to know what their plan is with McCullers and Velasquez workload but of course they aren't going to say shite. That's obviously going to be a big factor in how aggressive they are though

So you would turn down Gerrit Cole for McCullers?

Was waiting for that response. Was mostly just a figure of speech.

Just keep McCullers. Simple as that.
