Between Castro and Kratz, the catcher position is hitting a formidable .000 this year, which is fricking atrocious.

Maybe not swing at ball 4 at his feet when he's already laid off that pitch 3 times.

Offense did its job this series. When you give your pitching staff a 3-run lead not once but twice in one game you're supposed to win. I don't blame the hitting, despite the strikeouts. It's got to be demoralizing when your offense feels like it has to score every inning because your pitchers can't keep the other team down. I know it's the first series of the year, but our pitching both starters and relievers these last two games was shitty.

Pitching was the huge problem. I think we had a single 1 2 3 inning between last night and today.

Yea exactly, the offense is fine, the starting pitching needs LMC back soon, and he needs to pitch well.

I think we all knew how hittable mcgugh & Fiers can be. The weather didn't help but there are going to be a lot it starts where they'll need 6-7 runs for those guys

Cmon man. That looks like 97 out of his hand and all of a sudden it's breaking for your ankle. Let's not act like there is a lot of time to think vs a guy like Miller

We need two of McHugh, Fister, Fiers, Feldman to be reliable. High 3 ERA type guys who can go 6 or 7 pretty consistently. If we get that and McCullers comes back at full speed I think we are fine.

We need another pitcher. Given what the rest of the rotation is, We're asking an awful lot of McCullers as young as he is.

Of course, all four of those guys have been that type of guy before though pretty much. We probably won't get it from more than two. We will likely have to deal for a starter to be a true contender but I think we all knew that.

I'll have my eye on Ross or Cashner from the Padres. I'm not sure what the price will be, likely high since the Padres figure to be bad and those are their best trade pieces. They're not aces but they offer some better upside than what we've currently got. Id feel better about having Ross or Cashner paired with Keuchel and McCullers.

both have pitched as #1's though and Casper when healthy has been at worst a 2... his issues seem to be away from San Diego and health.
