I'm in the minority but I take Gomez for what he is, an extremely streaky player who will have periods of the season like this making everyone so frustrated but he will get hot eventually.
Gattis to me has always been the frustrating one besides the obvious Castro. Just seems like ANY time he bats with runners on base he has less than a 20% chance of producing....but he'll be sure to hit those bombs in the 8th inning of a 6 run game

With that said, I agree....I don't see how giving Jake a shot while Gomez is struggling could hurt anything
