Can't really ask much more from our starting pitching.

I have but one message today, and it's for the bats:

Sweet. I usually watch the late games each night, glad the Astros are out West

Hope our bats do not exercise the right to remain silent against this pitcher

Gonna be so depressing when I tell myself all day that I'm not going to watch this game and stay up til 12:30, then I wake up tomorrow with 5 and a half hours of sleep.

Miranda is trash, if we can figure him out for the 2nd straight time I'm gonna be pissed.

But to me it'll be oh so worth it, as long as the bats wake up.

We're not losing to Ariel Miranda. He's got 2 ladies names. Named after The Little Mermaid. Time for a breakout.

Perfect timing... I can stay up late fighting jet lag for my first game of the season watching live instead of a recording.

I for one welcome the return of the pacific coast games. Just enough time to get home from work. Get life done and wrap it all up with a little baseball before sleep.

Today's prospect news Forrest Whitley to make his quad cities debut after a rain out yesterday.

And in other fantastic news AJ Hinch may have a new job next year

It sure would be something to have the opportunity to coach his alma mata

At the top of Stanford’s wish list, according to several sources, is onetime Stanford and A’s catcher A.J. Hinch. He would be a tough get because he already has a high-profile job as manager of the Astros, but one source said the thinking is that major Stanford donor John Arrillaga would “break the bank” for Hinch.

I don't hate Hinch, I just hate that my lifelong most favorite team in any sport plays the game always swinging for the fences.

Call me old fashioned or whatever, but situational hitting, hitting for average, small ball; all have been things I've come to appreciate about the game. Living off of solo HRs, never advancing runners, especially in late innings, just disgust me.

How many times so far this season have the Astros had 1st and 2nd base w nobody out and failed to score a run? And we're not even hitting the ball well right now, but still.

Is it Hinch? Is it Luhnow? Is it the players agents forcing the issue so that they have better leverage come contract time? I know there has been a paradigm shift of sorts in baseball philosophies, and I'm willing to accept that, but management made some moves to increase our QABs and reduce our number of non-productive ABs.

How about we go out and play that way instead of sitting around waiting on Weaver 3 run homers and only hitting solo shots?

Hinch isn't leaving MLB for college baseball, y'all can keep dreaming.

In 8 games we've produced 2 run scoring basehits that were not home runs. Ouch.

We've scored by

9 solo homers
1 3 run homer
1 2 run homer
A 2 run double
RBI double
RBI walk
RBI sac fly
RBI groundout

You may say I'm a dreamer but I'm not the only one. Someday I hope you'll join us and the world will be as one
