I know it’s one game, but every concern over the off-season was in full display. Starter can’t go 5, middle relief departures with no acquisitions to replace them, and then the offense coasts after a great start (a growing tendency at home)

ETA. Forgot to add, did nothing to grab a good bench bat. Instead we get Singleton and Kessinger.

I hope not. Talented but complete basket case.

If he doesn’t cost you the game with his control, he cost you with a throwing error

You can’t trust a mental midget

And as far as the home record is concerned, if you truly want the Astros to win, stay your stupid asses at home and make MMP more like a road atmosphere

And by all means, let’s get in the playoffs as a WC

They don’t lose tonight if Dusty was in charge.

What would Dusty have done differently?

They wouldn’t have scored any runs.

Maldonado would still be here, so that’s one RBI gone.

He’d have sat McCormick and started Dubon so there’s two more off the board.

Julks probably makes the team and gets the start so Meyers HR comes off the board.

I don’t really love yordan batting second. I like him batting third and the pitcher has to see him on deck while pitching to the 2 hole. I’d like to see an aggressive hitter batting second with yordan in 3 hole…so probably tucker. I think eventually Yanier will make a case for the top 4 and Bregman or tucker will be in the 5 or 6 hole.

I’d be good with Yordan at 3, but I would lead off with Tuck and bat Altuve 2nd. I think Altuve’s best years were out of the 2 behind Springer and as far as aggressive I think he’s as aggressive as they come.

Mistakes I saw

1) no feel for framber sucking today from espada, after 4 and getting lucky with 3 GIDP he should have been pulled but like most managers he wanted to get his starter the W and cost us the game

2) Seth Martinez came in with 2 on, really? That was probably our worst reliever last year not named montero, he is terrible

3) Montero picked up where he left off, bomb to the 9 hole, pathetic

4) pinch hit a guy who homered with singleton instead of dubon who hit over .400 this spring, played great last year and went in anyways.

5) wasted hader for nothing down 1

I blame this all on yainer playing he went 3-4 but this is what dusty meant when we'd thank him for Maldonado playing bc it meant we'd win

In all seriousness, I like what espada did with the lineup, tucker and yordan hit lefties. If it was me, Id move yainer up to 5, drop abreu to 6 and Chas to 7. Dubon is honestly a better option at short than Pena at this point as well in terms of a bat.

We're in for a long year, middle relief sucks, yes abreu coming back will help. Pressly was terrible last year, his confidence seems shot now that he's not a closer. Curious did Joe know judge was 4-5 off pressly before letting him face him? Seems unwise then judge doubled

Listened, got pissed and had FODB-deja-vu when Myers got pinched. Seriously stop this stupid shite. I'm not suffering another season of this.

Singleton won’t be on the big league club when June rolls around. Dude swing first pitch and gave them an easy out. You gotta work counts and put some stress on the pitcher on that spot. It was dumb to pinch him to begin with

Singleton shouldn't have even been invited back to spring training, much less make the roster. I'm sick of this stupidity with him - he flat out sucks.

Nothing says "frick you" to a player quite like being benched for Singleton when you've hit .500 with a homer.

I think with Abreu suspended, he had to try and ride him as long as he could. He needed 6 min out of Framber and couldn’t even get 5.

This is what happens when you don’t do enough in free agency to address the mid relief departures.

See above

This was Dusty like and inexcusable. And at the very least, the one thing Singleton is capable of is giving a good AB and he didn’t even do that.

Re Pressly, I don’t have supreme confidence in him, but I do think he was the best option there other than Hader and it was too early to bring him in. I like what seems to be a trending thing of bringing in the best option based on who is coming up rather than what inning it is. Didn’t work out today but I think it was better for Pressly to face those guys than the new kid. JV and Uriel’s injuries hurt because having France or Blanco would have been nice today.

I think if OP would have called him by the beloved and accepted "Frambaw" instead of the weird and untested "Framboni" the result may have been different.
