DAT 10/2: Go Get'em Kid

Keuchel vs. De La Rosa, 8:40, Arizona.
Kid looking to solidify his Cy Young bid, while the young bats vanquish their road woes and take one more critical step toward a playoff berth. Haters seem to be coming out of the woodwork. Make them crawl back in!
Go 'Stros!!

Chase Field should favor our bats. (I hope)

What lineup do we throw out there with no DH? I really don't want Gattis in left. Hate him and Carter in the lineup together, and let's face it, Carter will be playing from here on out
Also wouldn't care if Marwin or Val played over Lowrie. Although if Lowrie could get his shite together then that takes our lineup to a whole new level. And even with his struggles this month, this has been our best offensive month of the season. Also seems like Correa has been a little quiet lately.
Praying we don't get road Keuchel. In a perfect world we go up 8-0 early and take him out after 5 so he can pitch wild card game but there's no chance Hinch would do that

Road Kuechel needs to channel his inner Home Keuchel tonight.

I like Marwin in left and Lowrie at third.

Indoors for Kuechel may be the magic ingredient

I don't either. But you're gonna see him there at some point this weekend. You can't just bench your best power hitter for the remaining 3 games with the post season on the line.

Well, if Gattis is in left, it will probably be tonight with the extreme ground ball pitcher on the hill for us. I'd expect Rasmus in center to start the night before he moves to left for Gomez or Marisnick.
We get one lefty starter against us Sunday, which is ideal for Marwin to start in left with Carter at first base.

Carter will lead us to the promise land

84-75 with a middle-of-the-pack roster and I keep seeing the word collapse

...while we watch the Angels, the Twins slowly creep up.

If we win the series this weekend, we will have been essentially a .500 team after the 18-7 start. That's fine. It is hard to watch this team play at times from a baseball IQ standpoint though.
Next year, we should see Reed, White, Duffy and Moran to man the corner infield spots. All are patient hitters. If White can actually catch, all the better.
Pitching in the pen, we should see a mix of newcomers (Jankowski, Hoyt, Shirley and others) plus I suspect a hard throwing closer in a trade (would love Gregerson as the top setup man).
Starters? Let Kazmir go and have the young arms fight it out for the 5th spot behind Kid, Jabroni, Lance and Fiers. Who knows where Feldman will be, health-wise...but he would be beaten out of the 5th spot in a perfect world anyway.

I am told the roof will probably be open tonight in Arizona. It should be about 88° at first pitch."
So much for the indoors for da Kid

Have any of you guys seen this Francisco Lindor defense that is supposedly better than Correa's? I find that hard to believe.
Posted on 10/2/15 at 4:15 pm to bayoucracka
No but I did see Correa make two errors in one inning on easy plays a couple nights ago...in a one run must win game.
