Rodon is still pitching tomorrow too. We got to win tomorrow's game baws. No ifs and or buts about it.

I may be in the minority but I think this is 100% a huge mistake

Save Lance for game 5(or game 1 of ALCS)

Anything else is overthinking it IMO

This is sort of how teams are approaching the playoffs lately. Remember Hinch started JV on short rest up 2-1 in '19 and used JV in relief up 2-1 in '17. I'm sure there are other examples from other clubs doing something similar but I obviously do not follow as closely.

I can argue it both ways. I definitely understand the thought process of not leaving it up to one game where anything could happen. It's not like LMJ is on short rest either, this will be his regular turn.

I trust a Lance/Urquidy combo with Framber waiting. If the Astros lose this series up 2-0 with Lance and Framber starting four games combined it just wasn't meant to be.

I’d rather start Urquidy but don’t think it’s the disaster some are making it to be. Also I seriously doubt this is a Dusty decision (if that matters)

I think Urquidy matches up better with the Sox heavy RH lineup than Framber does

Idk man Urquidy is in the zone entirely to much with not elite swing and miss. Look at all the soft ground ball singles they had last night because they were trying to put the ball in play. Those guys are shortening up and just trying to create action on pitches in the zone.

For once, I agree with Dusty's (front office's) decision. Your best pitcher is ready on his regular day in the rotation. You don't overthink it, you pitch him. handicapping game 4 to theoretically position yourself better for game 5 isn't the right call. Win the game in front of you.

If Lance were on short rest I'd be throwing a bitch fit just like I did in '17 and '19 when they did it with JV.

So with Rodon pitching tomorrow, they would throw Lynn in a potential game 5 in Houston? Worked for us last time, but hoping we knock them off tomorrow.

Same here. I wouldn't pick it, but it's a viable option. I just think it puts undue pressure to win game 4 when the pressure should be on CWS. They now have the edge in a potential game 5 IMHO.

Since this is what we're doing, they better fricking go to Urquidy out the pen and not some Yimi, Maton, Graveman bullshite.

I'd think they'd go with Giolito

So who we rooting for tonight? I feel like I'd rather play Boston but I'd also like to see the Rays win in 18 innings and force a game 5.

I like playing Boston better as well. But that series going 5 games is the best outcome for us.

I want a Game 5 between Boston and TB. And I don’t care who wins in that scenario. After being glad the Nationals beat the Dodgers 2 years ago, we see how that worked out.

The Padres are looking for an experienced manager. Names coming out today include Buck Showalter, Ron Washington, Bruce Bochy and Aaron Boone if he's not retained in New York. Do you think we could interest them in a California native who's guided 5 teams to division championships?
