He’s already decided Yainer DH’s game 3 and Brantley for games 4 and 5. Imagine this thread if Yainer went 4-4 with 2 homers and was benched on Wednesday

That column was brutal.

I do appreciate how Adam Amin is letting everyone know any time Mold comes to bat that not only is he a horrible offensive player, he’s defensive metrics are abysmal too.

Whatever, S’goooooo Stros

How cold is it up there?

Also went back and watched a bit of Sonny Gray’s first start in Minny back in April. It was an afternoon game like this one with wicked shadows

Not sure if it was discussed in another thread, but this is some pretty worrisome stuff.

Seems like Crane is fully committed to ditching analytics, which has litterally been the biggest driving force to the best franchise in baseball for the last 6 years. It makes no sense what so ever.

Meh I read it moreso he’s going to let Dana sink or swim doing it his way. The article says they are going to do some internal promoting, which hopefully means tenured employees who learned under the previous regime so they will still have some influence ideally

Not sure why that’s implied from those moves

Surprised this thread hasn’t already been anchored. It’s 9 hours old.

I'm hopeful Dana Brown gets more control over the operation. But when it comes to the big decisions, it feels like Crane and his "baseball people" will eventually get involved.

“In addition to the odd timing in the middle of the playoffs, it does feel rather alarming that the Astros would part ways with two more analytical mindsets as they continue to move away from what has built such a successful machine.

Though Firkus was front-facing this offseason as a spokesman, it was Jim Crane that called the shots this offseason. He moved on from Click and has been vocal about a desire to be surrounded by more old school minded baseball guys, i.e. Jeff Bagwell and Reggie Jackson.”
