that kind of performance would get him bumped to AAA on Thursday morning

Not sure why everyone was upset about this.

JL stated 2 or 3 weeks ago they were giving Appel 2 or 3 more starts in Lancaster before possibly moving him up. Well guess what he had three starts and they moved him up.

Oh and I missed it the other day but Ortiz sucks, since I moved here in 2007 all of his stuff has been him trying to be all Skip Bayless.

nobody is advocating that Ortiz is good. what he reported was necessary but also very intuitive. Bo Porter and Quinton MCCraken are both ex-players and they themselves likely saw the problem it would cause with other players that the perception of giving something to a guy who hadn't earned it while other deserving players are looked over wouldn't sit well.

Every person who has ever played the game would likely feel that way.

The bullpen session is really a non-issue, but the promotion is.

Understood and I did not mean to imply people in the DAT advocated for Ortiz. Simply wanted to get my shot in that he sucked

Holy shite, Jason Lane pitches for the Padres now. I'm amazed that I missed this development. Thank you, carry on.

If Bo survives long enough to manage Reed, imagine the late inning shenanigans with lefty-righty pitching matchups.

"I haven't pitched since college though!"

"So? Sipp hadn't played outfield since Little League!"

Haven't been able to post much lately. The attitude of the thread has gotten miserable.\

Astros looking to trade McHugh Keuchel or Cosart. I for one would not be sad to see Cosart go. He's a cancer when it comes to morale.
