54 million guaranteed…so basically they aren't winning the super bowl for at least the next 3 years.

all you can do is shake your head

you can find that kind of production in the NFL for almost nothing. You know, like whatever they're paying their backup...whoops, that is a higher level of production, my bad.

I love Jay Cutler and have always been a fan of him, but these teams are overpaying players just to get them to stay in town (Joe Flacco, Matt Ryan, Jay Cutler, etc). It only hurts the team in the long run because it takes away other players they can add, and it also inflates what the really good quarterbacks will ask for (Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, etc).

That's just how I see it.

That's not a good contract for the Bears. It could be worse, but it's not good.

Matt Ryan isn't worth that kind of money, but matt ryan isn't some ho hum qb...you can't mention him in the same breath as these mediocre, and they very much are, quarterbacks.

Today's production of Small Sample Size Theater is sponsored by Fox Mulder.

I did get an A is both prob/stat classes so I do understand and it is a valid point.

Cutler has a large sample size and it is very underwhelming...especially considering the frick you money they just paid him.

Basically this is a 3 year trial run with Cutler. They are going to see if he can turn that corner with two talented receivers and a solid RB in Forte.

The problem is Cutler can never stay healthy, and has never won anything to deserve the money he got. I think they will take a long hard look at Year 2 and decide where to go from there.

I always thought they should tell him adios, let another team over pay, and then draft their future while playing McCown.
