Ha...no...but it'd sure be nice if they had a locker room that wasn't inferior to that of the local YMCA.

Wonder how lucrative the new TV deal will be

Hard to say. CSN has like 60 percent of games through 2019, so the cubs can't even sell the full rights (WGN expires at the end of this year) right now. But sounds like they're going to attach with the regional fox network and sell 2015-2019 with 2019 through whenever the deal goes with the new fox affilate expires. Or at least that's teh speculation/hope from bleachernation and that guys is great.

Yea it's bad. No real batting cages under the stadium, a miserable lockeroom, the fan ammenities are bad (this part doesn't bother me because i just need a beer vendor, place to piss and food) but with the inclusion fo the new mascott (that the childish poster is talking dicks about) they're clearly aiming for a more family friendly ball park and that will mean things like pitch speed and fan photo booths (or whatever kids like).

The designs look amazing, but with every 'hiccup' they goal of a beautifully refurbished historic park seems further away.

Yeah I read that too. CSN runs through 2019, and the relationship with WGN may end

Serious question because I don't know the answer. Why is it great if they no longer have an affiliation with WGN and sell games to the Fox Regional Network?

when I went about 10 years ago, the player's parking lot was right there out in the open, chain link fence next to the stadium. I assume it's still in the same spot

Because the WGN deal is paltry compared to most teams.

And it's not like WGN was carrying the night games anyway so the national coverage was really just in the afternoons and sunday.

But really becuase money makes a team better.

I miss seeing santo standing out there red faced and signing autographs. That was the only good thing about that parking lot.

well they were part of the landmarks commissions agreement, and there supposedly is a contract that protects their 'uninterrupted sweep of the grandstands' until 2024, so yea they're legitimate parties.

This

Its the Cubs old management's fault they have a say.

Too fricking bad for them they knew the deal when they took over.

Well the language of the contract is out. Surely I'm missing something because looks like the cubs should tell the rooftops to kick rocks.

Surely the word "expansion' is integral here and will be dissected into minutiae but it sure seems like the cubs would prevail in arbitration.

Contract story

Gonna go out on a limb and guess that a gigantic arse video board doesn't qualify as "joint marketing."

If they really want to frick 'em, just build a new Wrigley elsewhere and demolish. Let them have a birds eye view of a vacant lot.

My solution: Move the White Sox to New Orleans. Let the Cubs move into the the Sox's old place on the southside.

Problem solved! The rooftop owners get screwed. The northside aldermen get screwed. The Cubs get a pretty nice stadium with tons of amenities and parking. What's not to like?

If only...

I love Wrigley like a second home, and unfortunately, these rooftop assholes are going to ruin the future
