Would this replace the ivy or is it above the wall? The ivy is a staple. Would be like Fenway tearing down the Green Monster and going with a normal fence.

Its above the wall. The disagreement is with the owners of the buildings behind the stadium that have people on their roof to watch the game. They signed a 20 year contract with the cubs to allow them to do this. The signs would block the views.

Don't sign a New contract with rooftops if you planned on a money grab. Ricketts wants his thumb print so bad on Wrigley. Just a terrible owner.

sounds like a settlement needs to be reached with these owners and the cubs need to just break that contract

It is more than just about signage, the Cubs owner gave a lot of money to Romney's campaign & the mayor wasn't happy about that.

I approve of the outfield signage, don't have any love for the rooftop owners. they've gotten millions and millions of dollars for years, and the same aldermen who back them up...i bet they sing a different tune if the cubs start to make good on threats to leave.

You are one miserable frick. You claim to be a Cubs fan, yet all you ever do is bitch and cry and say how much you hate every player, coach and now owner.

ScoreCenter huh? Great. The Wall Street Journal has had in-depth coverage on this for months.

But I guess anything more than 140 characters doesn't interest today's media consumers.

Cubs were the most profitable organization last year. Quit bitching Ricketts, you make plenty of dough and already got most of what you wanted approved. (Scoreboard, etc)

Wait til the contract ends to build your fricking signs.
