I'm not sure I would say it's ironic. I'm one of tens of thousands of Packer fans that lives in Chicago and I hate Bears fans.
But they're the kind of the opposite of Cards fans...the Bears suck and they still support them, but they're outwardly assholes and make no apologies for it. I can kind of respect that.
Cards fans trip over themselves patting each other on the back about how great of fans they are and ooze an undeserved air of moral superiority. They're like Notre Dame fans. And it's completely unjustified for both fanbases.
Also, frick the Rams this weekend.

Odd you posted that. When I read it I was actually patting myself on my back for being a Cards fan while at the same time laughing at superior a fan I am compared to non-Cardinals fans. Non-Cards fans just seem uneducated and trashy. Take the Braves fans for example...they trash their field to say goodbye to legendary Braves players.
Trashy. Cards fans wouldn't do that. We'd stand and cheer for the Braves player's last at bat. It's because we're better and understand MLB etiquette.

Want to know how I know you have no clue about Cardinals fans in St Louis? No one walks around saying "We are the best fans in baseball" here. Its a media construct. Sure some use it to troll other fans because it gets them hot and bothered but literally no one floats around on a cloud thinking they are gods gift to baseball fandom.
As to the Rams packers game. This will be a huge test for our young defense this year.
