Conferences in pro sports (NFL, MLB, NBA)

On-going debate. Which conferences remind you of each other between NFL, MLB, and the NBA?
I say:
NFC = AL = East
AFC = NL = West
I think my opinion is based on NFC/AL/East being more established, successful (at least in my time) and more bruising/physical.

How is the AL more established than the NL. NL plays real baseball.
I'll say
NFC = NL = East
AFC = AL = West

Yes! This thread is picking up steam.
And as for your post, I agree NL is "real baseball" but nothing is more established in all of professional sports than the Yankees.
That's basically my reasoning. This isnt supposed to be a factual argument. Its what you think off the top of your head.

Interesting topic, I would agree with you on NFC East vs AL East for various reasons, one being the Yankees and Cowboys are the biggest "name" teams in either sport, and then usually the NFC East (rightly or wrongly) usually has two or three teams each year folks think can win it all (vs the Red Sox and now the Rays).
Maybe NL Central vs NFC North now...two of the most beloved franchises and stadiums (Cubs/Wrigley, Pack/Lambeau) and then the Cardinals and Bears both have big time tradition.

The AL isnt only way better then the NL as far as teams but the AL rules are also way better!

If you're speaking of the DH, you don't like real baseball. Real baseball require situational hitting, pitching and defense. The DH takes some of the game out of the manager's hands. I understand that there are only a few GREAT DH's. However, the bunt and things of that nature play a much larger role in the NL.
Call me boring, but I like hit & runs and things of that sort.

I am a NL guy also. I like getting to the 7th with the pitchers spot in the lineup pending and agonizing/debating over whether or not a PH will be used in his spot or not. It brings your pen, bench, and manager into the same level of prominance as some guy that can't field but can rake.

NL also makes the Adam Everett's of the world very important cogs of a team. Defensive specialist, situational relievers, pinch runners, and the Lenny Harris' of the world are paramount in NL ball.

NL West = AFC West
i.e., suckage = suckage

There is not more strategy in the NL. There is no play in baseball worse than watching the pitcher bunt. In fact, the NL is the only league in the world which still plays "real baseball".
Most pitching/bunting decisions in the NL are perfectly rote. It's like having the strategy of forcing a batboy to hit.
I love the days when Earl Weaver didn't even have a sign for hit and run. And he was a pretty good manager.

The Cincinnatti Reds are the oldest team in baseball.

Well, if we're simply going by which conferences are the best in all four leagues, then it's those 4.
