Colorado Buffaloes coach Mike MacIntyre has been named the 2016 Walter Camp Coach of the Year. The coach of the year is selected by the nation’s 129 Football Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors.

MacIntyre has led the Buffs to a 10-2 record and a berth in the Pac-12 championship game Friday night against Washington. The Buffs are ranked No. 8 in the national rankings of the College Football Playoff poll.

MacIntyre will almost certainly receive a raise, or have a new job next year. Incredible turnaround he has engineered at CU

Sad I didn't make a game this year

I could hear roars from my crib during home games. Also never thought I'd see the day that CU football > LSU football

Excuse my ignorance, but has another coach jumped ship that quickly after rebuilding a program? I can't see Mac going anywhere at least two more years. Harbaugh doesn't really count because the NFL came calling but even then he was at Stanford! for four seasons.

MacIntyre himself left San Jose State in 2012, following a 10 win season. Granted, a little different situation as SJSU was clearly gonna be a stepping stone for him

he's in serious contention for the baylor job. if he doesn't take that, he'll take any job in the sec. possibly uf or ut this year. would be awesome if uf hires another coach mac from a colorado school after mcelwain leaves for oregon.

Absolutely not true. Midnight strikes for CU on Friday night.

Possible. If they lose and Mac leaves, the athletic director has a crucial hire to make. The talent is there. I think Montez will be a good QB once Liufau leaves after this year. They are most certainly in an infinitely better position than they were in 2012 when they hired MacIntyre.

One team has a rising star coach, a top 10 ranking, their best season in over 10 years, and is playing in a conference championship game. The other is coming off a 7-4 regular season and firing of their coach to hire the DL coach (nothing against O as I am cautiously optimistic but it is what it is)

I think the mighty Buffs beat U Dub.

Oh, and this happened last weekend after the game. Don't go overboard on the booze and blow after a big win

reminds me of when Stinkel won coach of year(AP)(mangino got the walter camp).

Pinkels success came at the fall of nebraska, colorado,Kansas St,etc.

CU rise, while The Whole Division fell.

He deserves the award, the raise, and more for the job that he did at CU.
