quote:

“As you probably noticed, I’m done with the tablets,” Belichick said. “They’re just too undependable for me. I’m going to stick with pictures, which several of our other coaches do, as well, because there just isn’t enough consistency in the performance of the tablets. I just can’t take it anymore.”

quote:

Microsoft reportedly paid the NFL $400 million to become the league’s official tablet provider, but Belichick doesn’t care about that. He doesn’t like the tablets, and he’s done with them.

I always thought that was a strange set up. Like don't the tablets belong to the NFL and they're under lock and key until kickoff? Teams can't put their own software on the things. That makes zero sense. If you're going to do that, let teams buy their own computers, use their own stuff. Of course, the worst commissioner in pro sports just wants control over everything and to pimp out the NFL brand to Microsoft....

Technology and Microsoft have nothing in common.

Reminds me of when announcers kept calling them "iPads" and Microsoft got pissed, so the league sent out an urgent memo directing all announcers to refer to them only as "tablets".

I had to go to a training for some new Microsoft software we're using at work. We were told specifically to use FireFox or Chrome because they system didn't work with IE. Even Microsoft doesn't make software that is compatible with the internet browser it includes in it's own OS.

If by "pimp out" you mean get paid $400 MILLION then yeah. Its basic sponsorship/advertising. What's wrong with that?

Yep.

This is get off my lawn attitude.

Who here hasn't had to show their parents or grandparents a million times how to use an iPhone?

Belichick got his chops coaching against Bill Walsh...think about that for a second.

God dammit, I hate the Patriots, but I love how much they don't give a shite about Goodell.

Pats also had communication failures last week but I don't see the deadspin conspiracy articles anywhere

Can you imagine how much cheating would be going on in Brady's tablet?

This would be a better story if Pete Carroll was saying this. Don't think Mr. Allen would like that

Yeah that's why belichick had the best spy cams and audio mics on the oppositions sideline a decade ago.

Because he hates technology.

Bill Belichick’s comments on sideline tablet have led Microsoft to release the following statement today:
“We respect Coach Belichick’s decision, but stand behind the reliability of Surface. We continue to receive positive feedback on having Surface devices on the sidelines from coaches, players and team personnel across the league. In the instances where sideline issues are reported in NFL games, we work closely with the NFL to quickly address and resolve.”

Same.
I would love to see the Pats win the Super Bowl, then have Brady say "Thanks Raj, ya fricking dickhead" when Goodell hands him the trophy.
