ok? doesnt change anything really. greinkes been incredible this year. clayton is still the best pitcher in baseball. his peripherals point to this. he has been for the past four or five years, he still is now. you give him the ball in game one just like you give him the ball in an elimination game. he is statistically the best pitcher in baseball over the past 100 years and hes making 30 million. give him the ball

Greinke was amazing this year, Kershaw is still the best pitcher alive and I'd start him game 1.

Yankees aren't going home, this is a team of destiny...
I will gladly watch Greinke pitch game 1 as he deserves to for being the better pitcher this year.

Saying Greinke is better than Kershaw because he posted a lower ERA for one year is lazy. Are Macro Estrada and Wei Yei Chen better than Chris Sale?

Greinke was the better pitcher this year, from the start of the year till the end of the year he was the better pitcher. It isn't lazy, he proved that this year he was better. Now has he been better, no and Kershaw had another great year but Greinke had a better year.

I think you can agrue who had a better year. Both were amazing. Greinke wins by traditional measures (ERA), Kershaw wins by fielding independent measures. Neither method is perfect and tells the whole story. Either way, there is little doubt in my mind that Kershaw is still the better and more talented pitcher going forward.

A pitchers job is to keep his team in the game, the fact that Greinke only allowed 3 or more runs in 6 total starts this year shows he did that. This year he was the better pitcher

You really seem to take this personally, why? No one but you brought up this mythical "best pitcher in baseball" Greinke had the better season, that is all I have stated and you're acting like I started the Prior/Lincecum thread. Why are you taking it personally?

Yeah first one was a jab, I forgot what started it originally. I believe Greinke had the better season and will win the CY Young. He should also start Game 1 with Kershaw going game 2
