8-24 last year

Had played Minnesota, Michigan State, and VCU tough but just lost to Delaware fricking State to fall to 2-5

From Jeff Goodman's Twitter:

quote:

St. John's just lost to a Delaware State team that was 1-5 coming into the game -- and the Hornets lone victory came against D-3 Summit. Delaware State was 7-25 last season and finished 5-11 in the MEAC. This is not good for Chris Mullin -- or Greg St. Jean. Johnnies have dropped 5 straight.

He should put a sticker on his forehead for every loss

Shocking. They hired an alumni with absolutely zero coaching experience. There was a solid chance this would turn out badly

Maybe Steve wanted a less stressful announcing gig after beating cancer. He led SJU to 2 NCAA tournaments.

It's like when UH hired Clyde Drexler.

LSU should hire Shaq after JJ is canned.

Mullin had some front office experience at least. It's a shame Lavin couldn't get over the hump there. St John's isn't an easy job these days

i noticed that, and noticed that some one tweeted to them that Lou is embarrassed from the grave. And please take his name off the arena, the program doesn't deserve the right to use it.

Steve Lavin is a damn good coach St Johns should have kept him.

Steve didn't do a good job recruiting the boroughs or Jersey, and the alumni didn't like that. He was doing just fine but they really wanted someone they felt could recruit local talent better. It was a stupid move and it's ending as most thought it would. They deserve what they got.

Lou Carneseca had not yet assumed room temperature. He is still kicking at age 91.

No worries. St. John's plays at Tulane on Friday night. They will probably beat the green wave by 30 points.

After the cancer battle his recruiting turned to shite and he wasn't picking his recruiting battles wisely. He was recruiting and missing a lot in the south for some reason and the guys he was landing didn't work out for them.
