I love the Bulls, but. . .

Carmelo Anthony will never win an NBA Championship.

ETA: He and Dwight Howard.

According to the people on this board, there are only about 2 or 3 star players who are capable of winning a championship.

Derrick Rose is like a narwhal, a mythical creature that actually exists but is rarely seen.

I think Rose won't be the same once he's back. Hopefully, he can have a career at least. I think he can take a back seat on this Bulls team if they get Melo or Lebron. Would allow him to take it easier, and play facilitator and not have the weight of the world on his shoulders.

Dwight is plenty capable of winning one. Will he win one, I have no idea. But he is plenty capable of winning one. Carmelo is too.

If Rose had never been injured they probably would have beaten the Heat this year.

Anyone is capable of winning one but if a team with him on it wins it all it won't be because he was their best player.

Coaches can change attitudes, but it seems to me it would take a miracle to convince Dwight or Melo to actually play a lesser, complementary role and take a lesser salary.

There aren't many max-salary level players willing to do that in their prime.

So they're adding Melo AND Afflalo without giving up Taj or Butler? Will losing Boozer and Dunleavy's deals be enough to do that?

Dwight has been to the Finals before as the best player on his team. If you are good enough to do that you are capable of winning.

Because Noah isn't a max player and Afflalo makes 7.5 million a year, it's actually a distinct possibility.

Well Boozer is due 16mil so if they can get rid of him, it helps a lot. Obviously Melo and Afflalo wouldn't be taking their market value for this to work, but if Melo really wants to win and he has given every indication that he does, he will take a paycut to make it happen.
