The Cubs (12-9) make a rare appearance at Fenway to begin a a 3-game series with the Red Sox (11-10). Jake Arrieta (3-0, 3.65) gets the ball opposite Drew Pomeranz (1-1, 4.60). Go Cubs Go!

You guys better be excited to face the quite literally powerless Red Sox.

He has had some good ABs, including a near 15 pitch one the other night in Pittsburgh.

Dont think his defense has been bad, probably just that Almora's is so good. Plus Pomeranz is a lefty, that may have something to do with it

true. Also I guess getting runs have been no issue, so Maddon wants to help the pitching

Yeah Boston's lineup is kind of arse.

They have a number of very nice young players, but if you aren't hitting homers you have big problems.

He and the whole bullpen have been significantly better of late. Edwards is off the charts good right now, was screwed on strike 3 or he would have had another clean inning.

But the starters are scuffling and all the LOB's and empty RISP's are killing the Cubs. There were similar issues with those for significant stretches last year but the starters were so good the Cubs were able to overcome.

Strop has been dope lately. And after looking hopeless early the Cub bullpen has been lights out lately. I'd still like to bring Zastrizny (or however you spell it)up in place of Duensing, but the pen has come back surprisingly well.
