I think the Cubs could be on the verge of opening a can on this Cravy guy.

Who is Cody Ross? Also, even though he's old, Ross is a very good defensive catcher.

Yeah, 3 stolen bases in 1 inning is stellar

Cubs should make a trade for a decent backup catcher like Saltalamacchia and send old man Ross out to pasture - probably not too hard to sneak that one through.

Think Salty used to catch Lester in Boston.

look at lester's performance, especially of late, and tell me if you really thing it's time to tell lester he can't have his catcher because it's hurting the team.

1-1 in the 3rd and cubs fans are demanding a change. I love you guys.

I predict Ross won't be on the postseason roster if the Cubs make it to a legit series

I don't know where the issue with Ross came from today other than I didn't like his AB earlier.

But the Cubs do need to address Lester's issue with throwing over to first base. A playoff team is going to exploit the hell out of that.

Yea that seems like a very theo/jed/maddon thing to do.

Flip catchers on your 1/2 guy for only the 2nd time in the season in the postseason.

Yeah they will. Especially in a one-game playoff if Lester gets the ball? If I'm the opposing manager I would send my guys until they prove they can stop them

Things are going too well. Nothing left to bitch about, so create a new narrative.

Yea...he doesn't need to be great at it, just the belief that he could. With that said, ross' snap throw to first is a dandy and so long as he can just get a runner to hesitate just enough to not take off on first move, then ross has a shot.

Two balls crushed right at OFers. It's going to happen, this Cravy guy is going to get mashed.

In a one game playoff situation, assuming the team is in a position to actually tweak the rotation the way they want, there is no chance that Lester gets the ball in front of Arrieta.

Arrieta over Lester, i agree. Although i do think lester's post season experience makes that a much closer call, and I wouldn't be upset if they go with lester.

But...there is a very real chance it wouldn't be arrietta or lester. Because we don't know how close the race will be. What if arrieta is the guy we have to go to on short rest to get the necessary win on the last day or 2 of the season to get us to the post season?

Yeah an additional comment to the guy above-David Ross has shown time and time and time again he is way more than capable of throwing out base runners with Lester on the mound. He is one of the best catchers in the league at picking off base runners. He has single handedly won games for the Cubs this year by throwing out runners. Very legit weapon.

oh absolutely. That's why I said that if the Cubs were in a position to be able to tweak the rotation. Chances are very good they would not have the ability to do it and it could be Hendricks on the bump.
