Serious question...how bad is our record if Arrieta and Hammel weren't dealing almost every start?

Once Lester eventually gets into a groove and/or we pick up another SP before the deadline this year's Wild Card race is gonna be tons of fun

Insurance runs are nice.

We scored six more today than I expected. The Vegas O/U must have been like 1.5 total runs.

By the way, Len Kasper was on Fangraphs audio on Tuesday for an interview with Carson Cistulli.

I think Herrera had one extra base hit before today

so with 4 against the dodgers, 3 against the cards and 3 against the mets we came out 5-5.

I'd have taken that 11 days ago or whenever we started this 10 game spell.

Not really pleased with how it happened, but hey, results are results.

Magic and cold pizza for everyone.

I feel your post is said a lot. We come out of a tough going .500 or whatever and we are okay with the record, but displeased with the fact that it looked like it was going to be much better after beating Kershaw and Greinke.

Jacob turner shut down for the season. I'm thinking that might be the last of him with the cubs.

Everyone ready for a week full of dipshits?

Yeah, saw that earlier this morning. His recovery is only 4 months, though. At merely 24 years old and considering how well he was throwing in Spring Training and in his comeback, I can see the Cubs being perfectly okay with hanging on for another try.

Cubs and Cardinals again...I don't think the Cardinals are in the Cubs heads. I think they come out and play better baseball. Not sure if it translates to a sweep, but I don't expect the Cubs to be swept.
