know we've talked this year about how we're a year ahead of schedule, playing with house money, etc. But at this point I'll be honest. I'll be disappointed if we don't make the playoffs.

Absolutely Cub. Being a Cub fan I'm kind of trained to expect the worst, and the Detroit series was scary. Plus this west coast trip gives SF/LA to make up some ground on us depending on which team doesn't win that division.

But the Cubs have put themselves in very good position.

And if they do make it I think Maddon will keep these kids loose. I remember the 2007 and 2008 teams being so tight and I was very disappointed in how poorly they competed in those playoff series. I think this group will come to play.

Giants lose again. 6 game lead over them now.

I'd be disappointed too because the team has performed past all expectations to this point and per fangraphs have 90% shot of making the playoffs so it would be a pretty spectacular fall...but it wouldn't change my opinion that this year was always the transition year and the next few are going to have a lot higher expectations.

Short and sweet version: never thought we'd be a 90 win team this year. Expect it in the next few years.

Hopefully it's not that serious but they're saying Soler could miss up to a month.

Well if Cogs ends up being the replacement in RF then that's opens the door for Castro to come back in the lineup.

It's both, actually. They just happen to be at the same time.
