The Cubs (95-55) take on the Reds (63-87) tonigt from Wrigley. Cubs took last night's contest 5-2. Jon Lester (14-7, 2.40) gets the ball opposite Josh Smith (3-1, 4.97). Go Cubs Go!

Lester has a chance to make a late push for the Cy young.

Pull for a 3 way tie for the NL wild card. This tiebreaker is pretty crazy.

Yep...put those rotations to work

I didn't read all that, but from what Jayson Stark said....Mets/Cards would play for WC spot. Winner is locked in....loser would get another chance and play the Giants. Winner of that game would move on to the WC elimination game.

It's more complicated than that. Whichever team wins the tiebreaker between the Mets and Cards (it is intradivisional record because they tied head to head, and is still going on since both teams are playing division games) gets to select which game they want to play. That team would be team A, and would most likely choose to host the first tiebreaker game that wouldn't even eliminate them with a loss. The next decision would be a little tougher though...go on the road against team A, or choose to host a win or go home wild card game.

It's definitely a situation that I hope plays out.
