The Cubs (94-55) begin a 3-game series with the Reds (63-86) tonight from Wrigley. Cubs lost 3 of 4 against Milwaukee over the weekend. Jason Hammel (14-9, 3.60) gets the ball opposite Tim Adleman (2-4, 4.21). Go Cubs Go!

Okay time to shake the hangover of clinching, get Jobu in there and wake the bats back up. And don't pitch to Votto.

Hammel was money tonight. The only other run he gave up was on a fluke pop-up. Kept the Cubs in it while the bats were still in hibernation.

KB is pressing a bit of late. Did the same last year when he got near 100 RBI. Not taking many pitches at all, swinging at pitches he normally does not.

Get that out of the way now, bring your best for the post-season KB.

Good to see Rondon in a pressure situation last night and get through it.

When is Strop coming back?

Zo has taken a nosedive, too.

Good to see Heyward hit that HR and Addison Russell is just flat out awesome.

Do we know if Joe is going with a 3 man starting rotation in the playoffs? Hammel odd man out in that one. I gotta think though, that he'd use a four man rotation to try and keep guys innings down a bit. The way Arrieta seemed to wear down last year makes me think he will.

It'll be a 4 man rotation, but Hammel will still be in the bullpen. Shaping up to be Lester, Hendricks, Arrieta, and Lackey in that order.

He used 4 last year. I guess it depends on how the off days fall etc.

Good chance we lock up home field this week sometime. How odd will it be to watch a Cubs team with nothing to play for the final week of the season.
