Serious question - how is it possible that Cubs WGN guy doesn't know how to pronounce Alex Avilas name?
Avila has played in ALCS and WS games. It's almost unfathomable.
I mean common sense alone dictates how you pronounce this name, but has he really never heard it during other broadcasts?

It is pronounced (Ah-Vee-Lah). Len and JD made a point to say that in his first AB with the Cubs.
They said everyone always pronounces it (Uh-Vee-Luh)

It's a Cuban last name. It's obviously pronounced ahVEEluh like everybody has done for his entire tenure in the majors.
