Yes, I can say that.

If they beat Golden State, Memphis, or San Antonio 4 games out of 7 in the playoffs, that would surprise me.

Edit - Houston beating Phoenix, OKC, LAC, Portland, or Dallas would not surprise me.

I can see about 8 teams in the West making the Finals.

Other than the Warriors right now, there really isn't any separation between the other teams in the West.

Any of those teams can get hot and come out of the West.

To say unequivocally that the team with the 3rd best record in the West with a legitimate MVP candidate is not a contender is flat-out dumbfounding.

I really like the TNT show with Barkley and Shaq, when the Rockets aren't playing. Shaq hates Howard and Barkley hates the rockets so much that the entire show becomes the two of them bashing the rockets in every way possible. and like others have said, this isn't just your typical "_____ hates my team" crap, they legitimately hate the rockets.

Barkley is an idiot in this though. To be a successful GM you have to use both analytics and "the eye test".

By him saying that the spurs don't you analytics gives away that he does not have a clue what analytics even are.

I mean they have two of the least likable players in the league and aren't all that fun to watch. This isn't a really out there opinion. It's not like I have any issues with any of y'all (except Boom )

He hates the fans. IDK which one touched him, but he's definitely a hater. Rockets fans discussing a Rockets related topic = butthurt.

Chuck has been trashing the Rockets on TNT since the Steven Francis days. Adding Dwight has made it ridiculous. Like it or not, TNT sways lots of people's opinions on basketball. I have seen that first hand on this board at times.

I don't dislike the Rockets, but I dislike Dwight Howard. That is also not very difficult.

Twas a simple joke...

I love how what is being missed here is that Barkley made a very adept statistics argument on accident. Barkley pointed out the Rockets don't perform well against top competition, often times indicating they won't perform well in the Playoffs.


So obviously teams need to do a better job of weighting performances against top teams when making decisions based on analytics. Thanks Chuck



If you don't do heavy analytics you are just dumb though. Analytics doesn't make a team, it just crafts teams to position themselves to be successful by helping them get into high percentage opportunities.
