It seems Chapman and NYY both want each other. Where do Melancon and Jansen end up? Who are the Cubs going to replace Chapman with?

I don't think Rondon is the guy.

Melancon would be nice. I think the Marlins get Chapman. Just a hunch

If NYY get Chapman back that would be something. Getting those Top Tier Prospects and bringing Chapman back. Would hate that as an Astros/Cubs fan

The whole reason we got Chapman was to win the World Series. Mission accomplished. Do not care what the Yankees offer him. I would like to get Kenley Jansen though. I think Soler needs to be shipped for another fallback rotation/initial bullpen guy due to Lackey's age.

That's Mike Montgomery. He will absolutely be in the rotation in the very near future. And he's going to be very good.

CJ Edwards could possibly move in the closers role.

i don't think they entertain re-signing Chapman

I would assume they go after a reliever. I think Rondon is the closer for 2017 unless they try to make a splash in free agency. Which would be where they would go for a splash. We will not be going after any big name position players and the rotation is largely set sans Hammel. Hammel could be challenged by Montgomery for 5th in the rotation.

He needs to learn how to pronounce his name correctly.

I don't understand why anyone would willingly leave this team. It's built to win for a long time.

He is in the best position he has ever been to secure a lucrative long term deal. I figured he would go the FA route

Wouldn't Theo be more inclined to try to develop a closer/reliever through his farm system??

I know they traded for chapman, but now that the monkey is removed from the back of the organization, do y'all think they try to develop one?

I'd offer Fowler a good deal. Guy is a tone-setter in the leadoff spot
