Iowa won't even be in the Big 10 talk for their CCG let alone the playoff.

It's a prediction hoss. I'm sure all of you had Michigan State and Clemson in the playoff last year in the preseason

Texas will take care of Notre Dame in week one.

Michigan state and Clemson would have been better picks than Iowa and Notre dame.

Notre Dame is ranked higher in the preseason poll now than Clemson was a year ago. Not to mention "clemsoning" was still a very prevalent term. Predicting Clemson to make the playoffs this time a year ago would've got you laughed off the board and you know it.

Take a look at Iowa's schedule.

Iowa has a favorable schedule, but their defense took a big hit when Drew Ott went down last season. They simply weren't the same. Not only is he gone, but they've lost other key pieces from that defense, too. Admittedly, I'm a huge fan of Desmond King, but there are some questions that need to be answered on defense.

I really want to believe this, but unfortunately the story never seems to change.

Clemsoning meant choking in the big moment. When the frick has Iowa been in a big moment?

I thought that should have died after beating LSU in the Chick fil a bowl. They have rolled off more consecutive double digit win seasons after that. They were a perennial 7-9 win team before that.

Only because of FSU. Clemson was always the next most talented team in the ACC in the last few years.

I'm not saying picking Clemson last year would not have garnered a laugh, but Iowa is far more laughable than that would have been
