It's almost here!
I am curious how you're feeling about your favorite CFB team.
Oregon isn't going to win anything of note but I am excited about the change.
That, and Mike Leach is on the mic on Pac-12 media days. It's the closest thing to football in months.

UF: will do fine in year 3 under McElwain. Younger secondary (lost Quincy Wilson, Marcus Maye, and Teez Tabor) and QB play still is spotty (they did get Malik Zaire from ND who will compete). They do have a good OL though. Michigan game will be critical though.
MSU: LeWerke was decent (tyler oconnor was an absolute bust). Still a super young team (10 scholarship srs and the 3 guys dismissed for sexual assualt case were Sophomores) and unfortunately didn't make any staff changes. They bounce back from 3-9 but perhaps 6 wins.

i'm feeling good about OU. losing perine and mixon will hurt, but we may have the best OL in the country, so the replacements should get their shots.
we have questions at the interior d-line position and MLB, but we have talent there.
we'll have a hell of a shot to prove ourselves at tOSU early in the season. i'm expecting to lose, but continue to get better as the year goes on and have a shot at the playoff.

Oregon played four redshirt frosh last year on the OL and get back a 3 year starter in Crosby. That will be the strength of Oregon.
Also, Herbert was the highest rated true frosh qb by PFF.
With Freeman coming back the backfield will be great.
From there it falls off drastically. We should get plenty of points.
We just need an average defense . Even one that ranks in the 70's would make me happy.

I think this season will resemble 2015-16 in a way of more dynamic games.
I've never been a fan of Royce -always thought him to be overrated- but he is solid. Online should be better for reasons you already stated. Defense can't get worse, I hope. And I like the coaching Staff.
I see 7 or 8 wins this season

Fine this year, Stoops left him in about as good of a situation as possible. Final year of Mayfield, fantastic o-line, some good experience coming back on D, brand new facilities, etc.
I'm optimistic that he'll be a fantastic hire moving forward. By all accounts, he's an offensive genius, so I'd love to see Mike Stoops leave after this season (unless by some miracle he puts a good product on the field this year) and bring in someone new there.
The 2018 recruiting class is solid, and the 2019 class could be the best class to OU in a while.
All of that optimism aside, Riley is replacing an OU legend, so I'm sure there will be some growing pains that my crimson colored glasses are blocking.

It feels good to have Petersen. He's got this thing rolling to where 10+ win seasons should be the norm from here on out.
Offense returns almost everybody and should be just as good or better than last year.
Defensive front 7 should be just as good or better than last year. Our back end should be very good as well, but not quite at last year's level. Experienced safeties but young, talented CBs. Overall the defense should be at last year's level.
The front half of our schedule is terrible and I expect a relatively easy 7-0 start, but tons of criticism from people regarding the schedule. Then we end the season with UCLA, Oregon, @Stanford, Utah, Washington State, then hopefully USC. That's a solid stretch of games and should really help our strength of schedule improve after the disastrous first 7 games.

Michigan's going to take a step back with all of the talent lost on defense. But, the O should keep getting better and better these next few years. Do they stick with Speight or go with young gun Peters? I see an 8-4 type season.
I will be at Jerrah World for the opener against the Gatas.

You really think it will be better? I think the ones will be as good or better but the depth not so much.
Anyway, I pretty much agree with your claim. I think the O is better and the defense slightly regresses but the core is still very strong, which will help the rest come along with that schedule.
Hopefully Azeem stays healthy even with the great depth there at ILB.

Bierria and Victor should be the top LB duo in the Pac-12 and one of the top in the country. Same with Gaines and Vea at DT. Lots of depth at OLB as well. We typically only play 2 or 3 DL guys at a time and we're about 6 deep there. Tons of experience and talent in the front 7.

Losing Victor really hurt towards the end of the season. DJ Beavers came in and played really well, but Victor is an All-American type LB, so there's going to be a dropoff there.

What's the story with Pagano? I saw something that he is injured now?

He was always injured. He had foot surgery and was always going to miss fall camp. I think he choose Oregon partly due to rehab facilities.
JHOP is basically saying he will miss the first 2-3 games. Who knows though?

The PAC - 12 is going to be much better offensively. I believe it will be hard to beat last year's performance.
