Just seems like kd has the length to give lebron trouble driving and kd has a shot that's much better than lebrons so her can do more on the perimeter. Obviously lebron is the better defender overall but this matchup may not favor him. Anyway that's my hot take.

Neither can really do anything to stop the other in 1 on 1 matchups, and GS has more weapons than Cleveland, so LeBron gets less help than KD gets.

That being said, yeah, I think KD probably gives LeBron more trouble than LeBron causes for KD, but it's not very much either way.

I'm a big Lebron fan, but he got absolutely abused on the perimeter last night. KD just blew by him with no effort on numerous occasions. Normally, when someone blows by Lebron, he is still in good position because he has the size and length advantage for a good contest at the basket. Unfortunately, KD is so long that Lebron can't really do much once KD blows by him.

I think Lebron is a much much better 1v1 perimeter defender than we saw last night. He may just be gassed from trying to play 42 mpg, carry the load offensively, and guard Kevin Durant. It really helped last year being able to stick him on Harrison Barnes for long stretches to conserve energy. Honestly, I would rather stick Lebron on Thompson and try my luck with Shumpert or JR on Durant.

and I think this is what every cav fan was afraid of when gs got durant. Because the second shumpert or jr guards him the levees gonna break

I think that is the best option though. At least Lebron gets to rest more in this scenario. There is just no possible way the Cavs (or any team) to effectively match up against this Warriors starting 5.

Kd can shoot a jump hook over lebron all day long.

Drives right side, is pushed out a bit, turns over shoulder and fires.

Like a machine.

Kd is taller and quicker.

Better outside shooter and better ft too

Kd by a mile.

KD is the X Factor for GS this year. However, Cleveland can't win if they keep these match-ups the same. They need to put LeBron on Curry like last year to keep him from popping the threes. I would rotate Jefferson and Frye on KD and do the best you can do to slow him down. If he scores 30, not a problem. But you can't have him and Curry going off each game. Make Thompson beat you!

Cavs got away from what works for them. Korver needs to be on the floor as much as possible. Even if he is not scoring, he draws enough attention that will free up lanes for LeBron and Kyrie to drive. My starting line-up would be:

Kyrie
LeBron
Love
Korver
Thompson

D Will
Smith
Frye
Jefferson
Shmup
