I agree. I personally don't have a problem with his cocky attitude (I'd rather my QB be cocky than not, tbh), but I can see how that would rub some folks the wrong way.

There've been some pretty vicious racial slurs thrown at him on social media recently. I think he was primarily responding to those without being direct.

When you consider his Wonderlic score was 21 you really get an idea of how physically talented he is. If he had the intelligence of even an average NFL QB he would probably be a lock to become the GOAT, barring injury of course.

So Patrick Peterson must be a miracle worker. Especially since he made an 8.

Aqib Talib said he was the most dangerous QB in the league. I've heard radio anchors on CBS and ESPN say that exact thing: that he has a scary as hell skill set. Which he does.

I'm not arguing that. I'm saying his skill set should scare opposing defenses, but why would it scare me or the general public?

I'm questioning the logic behind his statement, not his skill set.

That's probably it for some. It's funny because Bama fans are as arrogant or more arrogant about the abilities and accomplishments of Bama football as cam is regarding his own abilities and accomplishments.

Certainly humility is a more attractive quality than arrogance for most people, but not liking an exceptional athlete because of arrogance makes the pool of likable athletes extremely small.

I think this is what needs to happen:

Cam lovers(mainly Aubbies)- Accept it, Cam is kinda a huge douche. Alot of it I think he does on purpose. Notice how I didnt say he is a bad person. Alot of awesome good people are douches

Cam haters(mainly Bammers)- it isnt a big deal. Alot of people are douches. The dude is just a really awesome douche

I said what makes cam good is he can play like a black qb and a white qb and play both styles at a high level

This is what he means by saying, "you've never seen a QB like me". We haven't seen a QB with Cam's athleticism who can stand in the pocket and throw lasers. He's truly unique in this aspect

Cam tried to conform to their ideals his first few seasons but once he realized nothing he could do or say would make people like him he decided to do what he wanted and have fun. His play has improved ever since.

Yup, pretty much. Although those lines are getting more and more blurred the more Tebows, Manziels, Mariotas, Winstons, and Watsons matriculate through the college ranks.

The fact that he is a very unlikable human being might have something to do with it.

Well, Im pretty sure "bammers" would hate him no matter what since he went to auburn. Unless they are auburn fans, and they love him. So I dont really get your post because it doesnt make sense and is very specific.

Ah, I understand where you're coming from

I was reading his tweet with the assumption that the people his skill set scares are opposing defenders, not the general public.

At least that's the way that made the most sense to me.

What makes him unlikable? The fact that he's cocky on the football field? Name me a QB who's successful that isn't a bit arrogant on the field.

Again, I find the folks who hate Newton tend to take the NFL entirely too seriously. When it's just game.

Dan Marino's Wonderlic score was a 16

Very few people that know him agree with you. I don't know of any, but I'm sure there are some. You have to be able to understand that your perceptions =/= reality when discussing him as a likable or unlikable human being.
