@jjones9: Very manageable RT @corryjoel: Cam Newton's 2015-2020 salary cap numbers are $13M, $19.5M, $20.166M, $21.5M, $23.2M & $21.1M.

@jjones9: The cap has gone from $123m to $143m the past 2 years. Should be $150+ next year. 23.2m being biggest cap number in deal should work for CAR

He's tier 3
Tier 1:
Rodgers
Brady
Manning
Brees
Tier 2:
Romo
Big Ben
Rivers
Ryan
Luck
Wilson
Tier 3:
Flacco
Eli
Stafford
Newton
Tannenhill
Tier 4:
Foles
Cutler
Smith
Dalton
Kaepernick
Your tier 3 is kind of a mix bag. What exactly are you judging them on?
-IMO Flacco should be Tier 2. Tannehill & Stafford should be Tier 4.
-Foles,Smith & Dalton shouldn't even be ranked.
-Newton is one of the few QBs in the league who has done more with less during the beginning of his career.

Great news. The franchise is now married to this POS. Between them and Tampa with Winston (and the Falcons in terrible shape) the Saints have no excuse not to win the division every year for the foreseeable future.
new orleans saints NFCS titles- 3
Cam Newton NFCS titles- 3
going well so far for you guys

Well this just continues the trend of teams overpaying for QBs, so it's not really a surprise.

You wanted to bump this right after the SB didn't you?

I'd honestly put him in tier 4.
I have not been impressed at all with his play at the NFL level.
He had a pretty awesome season last year. Significantly better than anyone in that teir
The cam hate on here is insane.

You would think a beat writer who does this kind of shite for a living would spell check his stuff
Sad part is the way journalism appears to work now is as long as the word you use is properly spelled it will make it past the F7 check and straight to publication.

Tough to say he hasn't earned it after last season. I'm glad to see he has finally put it all together.

Playoff Flacco is tier one.
Regular Season Flacco is tier non-existent.

If that were true, why haven't we been able to walk through the division w Newton as the QB the last few years?
Based on how QB contracts are going and what Cam means for that team, I think it's a good contract all around. You can't say he hasn't deserved the money with everything he has done through the passing & running game.
He is not a traditional QB and I would not want him on the Saints; but outside of hatred for his Auburn/Carolina ties, you cannot deny how much of that team relies on him. Hopefully, as a Saints fan, that contract forces them to let some more of their top players test the FA market.
