Would be an absolute homerun hire for USC.

USC brass is stuck in the mindset that they have to run a pro-style offense. With so many of the up and coming offensive guys being spread guys, I could see them bringing in a defensive guy who hires a pro style OC.

Whittingham
The most logical choice, really. They're not going to snag a guy away from a top-tier program, because they'd only want someone who's amidst a string of successful seasons. But a coach in such a position isn't going to leave his current program.

Fuente would be seen as too much of a risk, but he'll turn some major program around in the next 3-5 years. Whittingham has been kicking arse in the PAC and is therefore proven, but he's not at a school with enough loot to outbid SC.

Who will Pat Hayden hire hmmmm. Has to have USC (the real USC) coaching or playing experience. Hayden will not get fired so he has the call. I say John McKay

I wouldn't be surprised if the decision is made above Haden's paygrade. By someone or a group of donors on the board.

I think Art Briles and Gary Patterson would also be good picks. They are doing well right now, but they are always looking up at Texas and OU.
