I keep seeing people projecting him as a top 10 pick. Is this dude really that good or are these media guys pumping him up because of his daddy

quote:

“He's jumped from the 50s to 30s, and now top-10 or lottery pick," Zillgitt said. "The guys in his class haven’t had a lot of improvement. His game has gone to another level. He’s become a better shooter. A better scorer. He could always pass and defend, but he’s elevated the other aspects of the game.

"He’s also gotten bigger in height and gained some muscle."

USA TODAY Sports will release its initial NBA mock draft in March.

His points stats don't necessarily wow you but he's a point guard at 6'3" so who knows.

Plus, top 10 in the NBA draft isn't the same thing as top 10 NFL. A lot of the recent drafts, once you get past pick 5 it's really a crap shoot.

He grew up with arguably the best basketball player ever and shares his genetic makeup. I imagine he's a pretty good player.

a little of both... he's good, no doubt, but he definitely gets a little bit of a bump b/c of who his dad is, and what that may could mean for his future potential ability...

personally, i think we'll see another Austin Rivers type of situation, where the son is a good enough player to hang around the league for quite a while, have some flashes and be a good role player, but nothing more than that

They bumped it up to Top 10 because nobody cares about Top 20-30 picks in 2024

Note how he slots in nicely at #10, just a talking point nothing more

If he’s got his father’s work ethic he could develop into a solid role player

He's good but his brother Bryce will be even better. Bryce is taller and a way better shooter.

As of now, I would say it is because of name and little else.

HS rankings are shite for a lot of players due to a lack of high level competition.

A year of college ball tends to separate the hopes from the hyped.

There is no legitimate argument that he grew up with the best basketball player ever lol. Also he is more of a 2 than a point and at maybe 6’3 that won’t work. These bumps are all because of Daddy

Nice player. If his dad was not LeBtin he would not get this attention. His team just went 0-3 against at top talent in CIF playoffs. Top 10 NBA pick would win at least one. The NBA wants him and LeBron to play together. It will happen.

90% of the people who reply in here couldn't name 1 person in that draft class other than James, and 99.9999% of people who reply can't give you a legit breakdown of any of those prospects, but good luck!
