No, he pretty much did. Obviously he doesn't think it's a douchebag tattoo.

The states would sanction them regardless. Just like they have done for the last 20 yrs.

Jon Jones might care a little bit about this.

I wonder what specific drug this was. If it didn't show up in the earlier why did it show up in the later unless it was short acting and this test may have been really random.

Maybe it was diuretic, but I don't think you would need it that far from the fight?

I mean if you're an athlete and the previous tests are clean why change what you're doing if it's the same type of urine test you get each time.

I'm not surprised he failed it's pretty obvious he uses but it seems like he added another drug in; maybe Lesnarand his camp thought what he took was undectable.

I've read on tnation that he failed the test for asthma medication.

One thing to keep in mind is that you can fail a usada drug test if you drink too much coffee or take over the counter drugs for runny noses and such.

ESPN.com alert on my phone says he tested positive for clomiphene.

If he has a good reason for this being in his system I'd like to hear it. It's a prescription estrogen blocker. Men typically use this in post-cycle therapy after steroid cycles.

true, this sounds like the same thing jon jones took.

i suppose a man at 40 years old would need that to take and i wouldnt blame them.

I am starting to wonder about some of these tests though. it seems that more of these failures are happening at very inconvenient times. there are many over the counter supplements and common medications that can make you fail a drug test.

im all for a drug policy that enforces testing for peds. but the whole failing tests for coffee, advil, etc needs to be eliminated.

it does appear that the drug tests are starting to catch up in regards to catching the users.

Here's the science behind it. In short, you use it after a steroid cycle to reduce the effect that estrogen that aromatizes from testosterone has on your body tissue, and to stimulate your body's natural testosterone production, which is shut down during a steroid cycle. If you don't use a PCT you can lose the muscle you've gained.

quote:

Most anabolic steroids, especially the androgens, cause inhibition of the body's own testosterone production. When a bodybuilder comes off a steroid cycle, natural testosterone production is zero and the levels of the steroids taken in the blood are diminishing. This leaves the ratios of catabolic : anabolic hormones in the blood high, hence the body is in a state of catabolism, and, as a result, much of the muscle tissue that was gained on the cycle is now going to be lost.

Clomid stimulates the hypothalamus to, in turn stimulant the anterior pituitary gland (aka hypophysis) to release gonadotrophic hormones. The gonadotrophic hormones are follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH - aka interstitial cell stimulating hormone (ICSH)). FSH stimulates the testes to produce more testosterone, and LH stimulates them to secrete more testosterone. This feedback mechanism is known as the hypothalamic-pituitary-testes axis (HPTA), and results in an increase of the body's own testosterone production and blood levels rise, to, in part, compensate for the diminishing levels of exogenous steroids. This is vital to minimise post cycle muscle losses

I'm not even saying he's using it for this purpose. If he can provide an explanation for it I think he can clear his name. "I didn't know I was taking it" isn't going to fly though.

i wouldnt be surprised if it was a supplement or the real thing

many supplement companies will put banned ingredients in their powders and such since they are not fda regulated.

many of them even also have disclaimers on their testosterone/post cycle bottles saying their supplements can cause a positive drug test.

so its really no excuse.

my only question is, if these tests are all random, why risk adding this with only a couple of weeks from the fight. hes had to have use this before

Well the article in the OP says UFC wasn't notified until July 14th, which is probably BS.

I think it's more probable that they got a heads up about the result before the event but couldn't risk losing Lesnar as well.
