Because of the strike, people have forgotten about that great Expos team that year. It was a team full of young up and coming stars.

Wade Boggs drank 107 beers in the locker room and on the following flight to the west coast after a game in Fenway.

Barry Bonds has some good ones.

In 2004 he reached base 376 times in only 373 ABs.

He had more intentional walks after his 37th birthday than any other player has had for their career.

He has more intentional walks than the Tampa Bay Devil Rays have for their entire franchise existence.

In 1934, Carl Hubbell got a huge raise to $18,000.
Babe Ruth's salary was cut to $35,000.

If you took away all of Hank Aaron's home runs, he would still have 3000 hits.

Probably got called a pussy for not going 250 IP in those days.

ETA: most guys don’t get to 177 in our current non strike seasons.

Greg Maddux had five 3-0 counts in the entire 1997 season.

In 2021, Huascar Ynoa became the first Braves pitcher to hit a grand slam since Jaime Garcia in 2017. Two days after Garcia hit his grand slam, the Braves traded him to the Twins for a teenage pitcher in rookie ball. That teenage pitcher was Huascar Ynoa.

In 323 AB vs. Tom Glavine, John Smoltz, Pedro Martinez and Greg Maddux,

Tony Gwynn struck out a total of three times.

Absolutely unreal. What a hitter.

in his first season with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1972, Steve Carlton went 27-10 (a .730 winning percentage)

the rest of the Phils’ pitchers went 32-87 (.269)

from 6/3/72 to 8/17/72 he went 18 consecutive starts without a loss, going 15-0 with 3 no decisions

excluding those 18 games, the Phillies went 11-40 (.216) during that same stretch

That Jon Bois video, where Barry has a nigh-identical OBP if he walks up without a bat than his actual OBP

Not counting batters who were intentionally walked, Greg Maddux faced 8,025 batters during the 1995-2003 seasons.

Total pitches to those batters called balls? 8,006

-Babe Ruth threw a no hitter without throwing a single strike

-Stan Musial had 3,630 hits, 1,815 at home and 1,815 on the road

-Only one person ever pitched hit for Ted Williams and only one person ever pitched hit for Carl Yastrzemski, Carroll Hardy was both of the those people.

-In 1990 Eddie Murray had the highest BA in the majors, but didn't win the batting title.

-Ty Cobb was the only player since 1900 to lead the league in homeruns without hit the ball out of the park.

In 1947, Williams won the Triple Crown -- with 32 HRs, 114 RBIs and a .343 average. He lost out on the MVP to DiMaggio (.315, 20 HR, 97 RBI).
