Why does the city of Oakland have to pay for a stadium when the New Orleans Saints had their stadium paid for by the state of Louisiana and Tom Benson receives nearly $400 million for the same state tax payers??? The city of New Orleans and the suburbs should have to pay that money if at all!
Because the Superdome will likely generate several billion in income over its extended lifespan, hosting massive events.
A new stadium in Oakland has 8 Raiders games a year, and then maybe 2-3 concerts?

Oakland should consider a retractable roof. Then it can double as a convention Hall.

I just can't see 2 divisional rivals sharing a stadium.
The Clippers and Lakers do it

Really? I would assume they would be because they're in the same city and are in the same division. There's usually some element of a rivalry between divisional opponents...let alone divisional opponents that are in the same city.

Well Oaklands proposal was Coliseum City. 60+ acres that has Raiders new stadium, A's new stadium or renovated O.co, condos, shopping centers, restaurants, office space, etc. The entire area was getting redone.
But again, the City has no money, and it got nowhere.
The Raiders and NFL have over half the money to build a new stadium. Raiders have 400m and NFL will give up to 150m.
But again, Oakland has no money.
SD at least built nice arse Petco. Oakland has already lost the Warriors, with Raiders next. Could still lose A's, but what a failure if the one team they keep is the A's.
