Combined with this season, and he was on target with pitches until recently, even though he was having some bad luck. Just because he had a little bad luck stretch combined with a less than a week's slump, we jump the gun and make changes? He's 2 for his last 7 with 3 walks, 3 runs, and a couple of stolen bases. That's a .500 obp btw.

.263 actually... including the playoffs.

During the 1st half of those numbers I have, he had an OBP of .419 with an OPS 1.040

His final 13 games(including playoffs) he roughly had an OBP of .360 with an OPS of .826

This season his OBP is .311 with an OPS of .611

Listen smartass, that's a smaller sampling size than the overall sampling size that is already too small for you.

I didn't mean to call you an idiot, I don't know you IRL and you may be a very brilliant guy who just happens to think a .311 is an ok OBP for a leadoff hitter. If you're ever in Atlanta I'd love to buy you an iced tea or whatever it is you drink.

If JHey finishes the season with an OBP equal to or lower than .311, I will post a picture of my dick.

Maybe some animal porn too.

.380 is the lower end range of where you want a leadoff hitter to be, lets make some sort of bet based on that if you're willing

But I have also bookmarked this

put your best hitters near the top of the order and call it a day. people make too much of a fuss about trying to pigeonhole specific types of hitters into specific spots in the lineup. if you fill out a lineup card trying to specifically score one run in the first inning (or just try to score exactly one run in general), you don't understand math.

anyway bj upton is better than ichiro, imo. ichiro would be the worst hitter in the lineup

also, if it was you who made a similar thread about this on reddit, i saw someone laughing about it on twitter.

Fan of dicks and animal porn? I don't think I want to share this Braves season with you. And a .380 obp is the lower end of traditional leadoff hitters. A good leadoff guy doesn't have to be traditional. I think of Heyward leading off as like a Dexter Fowler with rivaling and more pop.

eta: rivaling speed

I mean I guess that is what you would ideally want. I'd also want my number 5 starter to have a sub 2.00 ERA. But in reality, only 17 qualified batters posted a OBP north of .380 last year and of those only Choo led off.

Well then you just eliminated every leadoff guy from 2013 not named Choo and Matt Carpenter whom leadoff more than 100 games.
