I’m seeing maybe 12 that will be favored and only 7 or 8 that seem like “locks”.

Aren’t some 5-7 teams asked to fill bowl spots if they have a strong APR?

It’s 82 bowl spots.

I’ve seen Iowa play.

Them being bowl eligible should end the Big 10’s status as P5.

Yes but teams in transition years (JMU JSU) and teams with 2 FCS wins (Army if they beat Navy) that have 6 wins get spots before any 5-7 teams are invited

Not to be a downer but there are too many bowls. I know it’s about money and extra practice and such, but it looks real bad when you have a bowl game that only 15,000 show up.

Disagree here. Bowl games used to mean something. Now we have 5-7 teams playing each other in half empty stadiums with 100k TV viewers, opt outs galore and a general national disinterest apart from the playoffs and a few other key matchups.

Go back to 16 traditional Bowl Games played around New Years Day plus an 8 team playoff afterward. That's 40 teams in the postseason, or roughly 30 percent of college teams and 23 games. That's plenty of entertainment plus it still means something.

Rose
Sugar
Orange
Cotton
Fiesta
Peach
Citrus
Gator
Outback
Holiday
Alamo
Music City
Liberty
Sun
Hawaii
Las Vegas

Yeah, they meant a bunch of cigar smoking grifters repping the bowls skulking around w/boosters at big state schools making backroom deals to bring in teams that had large enough fan bases willing to travel during the holidays. Bowls were never anything more than a way to try and bring in tourism to cities during the holidays no matter how much ESPN CFB retrospective wank fests and your nostalgia blinded eyes tell you otherwise.

Just don’t watch it is that easy. shite we have opt outs in NY6 games now. Even big bowls don’t mean shite. Let the kids play if they want to and for those of us that do enjoy us why not

I want to beat ULM badly, but I also don’t want to limp into a bowl game at 6-6 and have our university leadership make it seem like this Desormeaux coaching staff experiment has been some sort of success.

Will be interesting to see how hard Syracuse plays w/Babers now canned. They tapped Nunzio Campanile as their interim HC. He was also the interim HC at Rutgers when Chris Ash was fired. Kind of odd they didn’t pick their DC Ricky Long fir that role but maybe he didn’t want it since he’s now 73 and willingly left SDSU’s HC position to be a DC at New Mexico a few years ago.

Then don't watch. I still don't understand why people get on here and bitch about this. Don't watch or keep up with those games.

Eastern Michigan has become eligible for a bowl by beating Buffalo for the first time since 2014.

Not counting JMU and JSU there are now 14 bids available.
