Bowl game after playoffs not feeling like a good idea?

We had the hype with the playoffs on Sat and the NFL slate on Sunday
Is the Monday CFB games feeling like an afterthought or the end to a long football weekend?
Feels like hardly any hype to me. Everyone looking ahead now to NFL playoffs and title game.
Bad move by espncaa, in my opinion
To the genius downvoters, this is a scheduling topic. It does not have to do with the game play.

I feel the same about them as I do about the meaningless bowl games played before the playoff

Never understood why people bitch about more football

It feels weird but luckily it only happens like once every 5 or 6 years.

It's happened twice in two years. The CFP was on 12-31 last year also.

Kinda reminds me of the bowl game slate during the BCS days. You'd have the Orange, Sugar, Rose, and Fiesta bowls between January 1-3, and the BCS Championship game would usually be between the 6-9th, but in between you'd get match ups like the GoDaddy bowl or the BBVA Compass bowl.

ESPN tried everything they could to move them to the 31st. Committee refused, this isn't on The Mothership

The Sugar and Rose refuse to play on 12-31. That is the problem.

Stubborn bowls sounds more correct. I didn't think CFP Committee had that level of involvement.

If the championship game had been played i would agree, but it's next weekend, good slate of games today on a day most people are off, im looking forward to it.

The Playoffs won't be on NYE going forward.
They had low ratings and a lot of negative backlash last year, this year they kept it because it was on a Saturday so it wasn't as big of a deal.
ESPN fought hard to keep the games last year off of the Friday NYE, but the problem is the Rose and Sugar Bowls both refused to not be played on NYD (or in this case the 2nd since NYD was on a Sunday) due to "tradition"

Here's an article where the Playoff Committee admits they fricked up and are changing it... Along with schedule through 2026

It's only compounded by shitty teams playing in the later games, too.
Western Michigan? fricking really?

Those roaming dates in the link are terrible. They really should play the 2 semifinal games on 1/1 along with the other big bowl games.

I don't get that feeling at all...doesn't effect my view on the games one bit
