I'll go with Atlanta for no reason other than it's close to home. 4 years 60 million.

San Francisco seems logical.

Could also see a surprise team like CHI (AL) make a run at him.

No way in hell Atlanta is investing 15 million per in pretty much any player, much less one with as many issues as Hamilton

It will clearly be the Astros.

Clearly. They have about a billion they could spend...but, they won't.

Didn't Chipper just finish off a 4 year 60 million deal as well? He was more fragile than Hamilton

With another which would have made it 4/61.....

quote:

The NL batting champion and the Braves agreed Tuesday to a $42 million, three-year contract extension though 2012, a deal that could ensure Jones becomes one of those rare stars who plays his entire career in one uniform.

There's an option that could make the extension worth up to $61 million over four seasons.

So did the 3 go 2009,2010,2011 with 2012 being 4th
Or
Was it 2010,2011,2012 and 2013 being 4th year option

?????

Whichever site you linked didn't have all information. He would have only made $7M next year since he only played 112 games. If he would have reached 123 games, he would have made $9M, with a higher price for more at bats reached.

So if he didn't retire, it would have been a 4 year contract worth $49M.

2010, 2011, 2012, and next year would have been his $7M option.

I think the days of Boston over paying for aging talent ended when the shipped off Crawford and Beckett.

I think Bostons main priority will be Greinke. But, there is a very high chance that they don't resign Ortiz. The only power hitter on the team would be pretty much no one, unless you count Ellsbury, which is a stretch to call him a power hitter. They also will probably lose Cody Ross, so they will have holes in the outfield.

Boston makes a lot of sense with who all they might lose. I think Toronto might make a fairly large push for Hamilton, as they have been wanting to spend a lot of money on a player. But, if he isn't offered a huge contract from anyone, Texas will definitely resign him, so I do not think another team would get him for a discount.

Josh should put a cool 10 mil down on himself at 15/1 for the Dodgers and sign there.
