I don't understand why Boise St didn't go for a 2 point conversion after their last TD for a 21 point margin. It made no sense that late in the game to kick the PAT.

But it's the coach's job to always think one step ahead regardless of the score.

If you don't make it, the opposing team may only need two TDs and a FG instead of 3 TDs.

But they would also have to convert multiple 2 point conversions too. It's more likely to occur what Colorado St did scoring 21 unanswered points. Teams trailing by that many rarely kick FG's that late in the game. And Colorado St's kicker already missed one earlier in the game.
