If he was a coach, he would have been fired.

Which one of these HASN'T Lagarrette Blount punched?
A) his coach
B) his teammate
C) an opposing player
D) Brent Musberger

Blount is punching all of the wrong things.

Knowing Mike Bellotti, he probably deserved it anyways.

Yea, we should all be able to just punch the shite out of whoever we want in sports. Pass it off as "it happens all the time", never take any personal accountability in our lives.

Getting in a scuffle once in practice isn't a big deal.

Punching an opposing player in the face after a game is a big deal.
Punching your coach is a big deal.

Neither of those happened yesterday.

What did happen yesterday is not a big deal.

I agree to a point, but based on previous history it casts in a different light. Drinking a beer isn't a big deal, but when its a recovering alcoholic doing it....

When that article says "his right jab to the jaw" I just cringe

Anytime there is a fight, someone says some dumb shite like that.

It wasn't a jab, it was a cross. Big deal, who cares? I know, I know.

But it really is the same as saying "tigers tee shot from the bunker on 18" or calling a straight swing pass to a runningback out of the back field a "screen pass to the runningback"

So a cross is the lead hand and a jab is someone's off hand.

I'm a righty, so punch from my right is a cross and left is a jab?

Meet me in the parking lot after school and I'll demonstrate the jab v. cross for you. pack a lunch.

Seriously, my understanding is a jab can be either hand, it is the style of punch which is executed with lead hand its a short straight stabbing punch whereas the cross is just that--a stronger punch using more body rotation usually coming across the side of the victims face.

we know he can punch

he should be going for leg sweeps and takedowns more often ... you know, to work on his ground game

Yes

Rear hand is a cross, and as a righty, your right hand will be rear. With few exceptions, fighters use their weak hand as their lead hand.

Blount dropped the BSU kid with he rear hand

You won't hear anyone who knows what they are talking about call a rear hand straight a Jab under any circumstance, no matter how much power is on it. .

The version I had heard was he did punch Bellotti but it was an accidental blow - when Bellotti tried to get in teh middle of a scuffle between Blount and another player
